I love a good bit of fitness wear, as you may have been able to tell, and am always looking for kit that is comfortable, practical and affordable as well as looking stylish. So when I heard from SportsDirect.com and they told me about their latest yoga range I couldn’t wait to try it. They were kind enough to send me a pair of 3/4 leggings and a yoga vest to try out and this is what I thought…
As well as the comfortable fit and quality performance, USA Pro have also managed to pull some flattering drapes and girly cuts out of the bag.
On first wear of the leggings they were instantly put to the top of the pile for yoga. The fit is reassuringly tight, so you know they’re not going to budge when you get into a downward dog or start running and jumping around. They’re also super opaque, meaning you don’t get that dreaded see-through effect that some leggings have.
I’ve got plenty of leggings that I wear for CrossFit and running, but they often sit on that trouble tummy area where they just end up making me paranoid about my muffin top! Not these though, they have a super thick waistband that helps control the flab and stop it from escaping in inversions and twists.
The length on the calf is ideal for kneeling postures, where capris can end up digging in the knees. They also have a really flattering cut around the calf, accentuating their shape rather than cutting off at an often chunky part of the female leg!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good racer back vest when I’m shifting weights, but twisting poses in a normal vest are annoying at best. As you turn, so does your top and you end up with a seam running down your middle. But the drape of the USA Pro yoga vest means the dropped waistband stays put as you move, and the excess fabric takes up the slack. The pretty straps at the back make this vest a real attention grabber, and the padded bra section means you don’t have to wear a bra… however, unless you have a larger bust that fills the slightly more generous cups, I’d still wear one just for that comfort feel!
Fit-wise, the clothing is fairly true to size – I usually wear a size 10-12 and the size 10 was comfortable yet supportive. However, as hinted above – you might want to drop a size in the top if you’re not on the more busty side.
Coming in a range of colours to suit all, the USA Pro yoga line could easily be the staple of every yogi’s lycra wardrobe. And starting at just £7.00 for yoga crop tops, £8.50 for the full length vest, and £12.50 for the 3/4 leggings, it really is a bargain*.
