Already well-established in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and nutrition expert, Charli Cohen is soon to be the name on every fashion-conscious fitness devotee’s lips as she unveils her eagerly anticipated VIS sportswear collection. The talented designer’s debut collection is the best thing in fitness fashion since Stella McCartney launched the Team GB Olympic Games kit back in 2012.
The VIS Collection, backed by Lycra producers Invista and produced entirely in the UK, is Charli’s first since the graduate collection that saw her shortlisted as a finalist for numerous fashion awards. Featuring fabrics with state-of-the-art performance technology and a super-luxe, soft-touch feel the clothing is perfectly functional while remaining beautifully stylish.
The innovative designs of Charli Cohen combine ergonomically panelled, technical baselayers with oversized outerwear pieces, giving an overall look of sophisticated sportluxe. Charli’s knowledge of sports science gives her the perfect placing to create ergonomic, high performance sportswear, while her keen eye for style and all things beautiful keep the pieces perfect for both trainers and heels.
I was thrilled to be invited to the exclusive preview, where the VIS Collection made its electrifying debut amongst the guests. The models showcased the pieces with a powerful yoga sequence, demonstrating their functionality as well as their perfect fit.
After the show I took the opportunity to have a closer look at the clothing: the shimmery blacks give a fantastic contrast to the soft look of the yellow and greys, and the fabrics are unbelievably soft to touch. Charli’s trademark yellow, mixed with blacks and gorgeous charcoal greys, makes the clothing perfect not just for a fashion statement in the gym or on an outdoor workout, but also for keeping visible when out on the road. Personal favourite pieces include the “Laser Capri”, “Voltage Sweat”, “Dynamo Tank” and “Velocity Jacket”.
The collection is exclusively available for pre-order at charli-cohen.com now, with prices starting from £105, and will be available both online and in selected retailers from next January. You can also follow Charli on Twitter, @TrainWithCharli.
